Manuslate
A calm writing surface, built around ordinary Markdown files.
Manuslate opens directly into the document. It brings capable Markdown writing, a structured local library and visible file status into one desktop window, without requiring an account or introducing a proprietary document format.
Write without leaving the document
Switch between live typesetting, source, reading and split views. The editor supports GFM, task lists, tables, footnotes, KaTeX math, links, images and fenced code. An outline, find and replace, command palette, focus mode and adjustable typography stay close without crowding the page.
Organize a library of real files
Import individual Markdown files or a folder while preserving relative paths. Nested categories, pinned documents, search and drag-to-organize keep larger collections understandable. Enter selection mode—or use ⌘/Ctrl-click—to batch-manage documents, imported folders and categories; removed documents remain recoverable in Recently Deleted.
Know where every change stands
Recovery drafts, file permissions, disk writes and outside changes have visible states. Manuslate can detect conflicts, compare content, keep automatic versions, create named checkpoints and move deleted documents into a local Recently Deleted area.
Local-first, open and early
The desktop app reads or writes only files and folders you choose. Preferences and library organization stay on the current device. Version 0.1.0 is an early Apple silicon macOS preview, so important work should still be backed up. The project is MIT licensed and accepts feedback through GitHub Issues.
